The story of Utne

Utne Camping started as just “a few tents in the field” along what was called road number one way back in the 60’s. Now this road is called road 188 and it even today leads you to Sweden. The “old” E6 ran close the camping at that time and “everyone” was driving it on their way to border “tent-shopping” at Svinesund. To many Utne became a natural place to stop on their way to or back to “Europe”. Then the new E6 was built. Travellers who only wanted “a snack” had by no completely forgotten the old Eidet inn. Utne Camping however survived with splendour even today. Bigger, better and more modern than ever.

Utne Camping ligger sentralt i Østfold i landlige omgivelser. Campingplassen ligger på en høyde med utsikt over Sarpsborg kommune.

På Utne Camping har vi masse plass til telt, campingvogner, busser og bobiler. Alle plasser har tilgang til strøm og kabel-TV med mage gode TV-kanaler. Utover dette har vi hytter, rom, campingvogner og leiligheter til leie.

	Caravans for hire. For travellers who don’t bring their own caravan Utne offers a number of luxurious and comfortable caravans for hire. The caravans have electric heating, a cooking plate, a refrigerator and TV. Internet access can be rented. The beds have new quilts and pillows. Linen for rent at the reception. All of our well kept rental caravans are for sale.
	Log cabins. For guests who don’t bring their own “roof above the head”, we can offer an overnight stop in small and medium sized cabins. All renovated in autumn of 2008. Today they appear as cosy small dark sprayed cabins with checked windows. Electrically heated, offering cooking plate, coffee-machine, cable TV and refrigerator. New quilts and pillows are ready for our guest in all beds and linen can be rented at the reception. Wireless internet available.
	Simple and nice rooms. As an alternative to the cabins we offer newly renovated rooms with bunks and sleeping couches. All our rooms were renovated in the autumn of 2008. Short distance to the shower and toilet facilities. Of course the rooms have cooking plate, coffee-machine, refrigerator and cable TV. Quilts and pillows ready for you in all beds. Wireless internet and linen for rent at the reception.
	Small flats with a loft-room. In our newly built “octagonal” house we offer small flats with a loft-room. Here you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with cooking plates, oven and dishwashing machine. Several of the flats have a private dining room with a nice table and some chairs. In the living room you’ll find comfortable sofas, easy chairs and a TV. The flats come in different sizes however with the same standard. They have private bathrooms, including a shower and a toilet in addition to a washing-room with a washing machine and a tumble drier. Wireless internet access and linen for hire.
	Store luksuriøse leiligheter For de riktig kresne har vi store luksuriøse leiligheter, med ett og to soverom. Her er fullt utstyrte kjøkken med kokeplater, stekeovn og oppvaskmaskin. Flere av leilighetene har egen spisestue med pene bord og stoler. I salongene er det komfortable sofaer, lenestoler og store TVer. Leilighetene har noe varierende størrelse og planløsning, men like høy standard. Leilighetene har bad med dusj og toalett, samt vaskerom med vaskemaskin og tørketrommel. Trådløst Internet og sengetøy kan leies.
	Long-range rent. In summer was well as in winter long-range rent of a cabin or a flat is often a better alternative than staying in a hotel. The flats are also well fitted for companies that are in need of a place to stay for workers for longer or shorter periods. Please contact us for a special offer.
	Facilities. You’ll find telephone and a newly renovated sanitary house. Available are also separate, private rooms for your personal use. To take care of your dirty laundry we have new washing-machines and tumble driers for guests who don’t have this in their flat. We offer both outdoor an indoor kitchen to our guests and grills may be borrowed, for free. We offer bike and moped rental and also cars and mini-tractors or children. For the children we offer a brand new playing area in 2009. The camping has wireless internet.
	The Lavo – The firehouse. Utne camping has a very special gathering point for all our guests. The Lavo is open all summer. The building can also be rented for private arrangements during summer and winter. The Lavo/firehouse has about 59 seats inside and even more one the outside. Inside there’s an open fireplace, under floor heating and even a small “dance-area” equipped with a “disco” and a flat-screen TV. The firehouse and the patio are excellent for gatherings and parties. It can also be rented for conferences.
	Communications. Utne camping is situated ten minutes’ drive from Moss Airport, Rygge. There’s bus-connection to Sarpsborg and Moss with transfer to Fredrikstad and Halden. From Sarpsborg there are transit and express buses taking passengers to Sweden, Oslo and other parts of Norway, in addition to trains from Råde and Sarpsborg railway station. Utne camping is signposted at exit nine from the E6 at the Solli crossing, eight kilometres north of Sarpsborg, with only a short distance to Oslo, Fredrikstad and Moss. 	Activities. From the camp site there’s just a short distance to a local riding centre, nice bathing beaches and hiking areas. You’ll find possibilities for some good fishing, golf and outdoor life. Price-worth shopping at Svinesund (Sweden) is just half an hour’s drive away. Sarpsborg has several big and nice shopping centres with incredible offers all year. Some may also find it convenient and funny to make a day trip to “Tusenfryd”, Quality Resort and “Badeland in addition to “Eventyrfabrikken” playing area for children. .
